What it means
Our Sustainability and Advisory Councils include experts from global organisations across an array of industries. The Sustainability Council annually reviews the assessment process to ensure all applicants are verified in accordance with the most up-to-date knowledge and insight. They help outline the actions needed to create a sustainable business. The Sustainability Council is responsible for reviewing the principle areas of sustainability across our five criteria: governance, social framework, innovation, environmental framework and philanthropy. This includes but is not limited to: current legislation, labour rights and law, and environmental policies. The Advisory Council helps drive meaningful change in terms of how the Butterfly Mark operates, both for consumers and within business structures. They provide practical insights to help us further our mission. These include advising on consumer perspectives, engagement practices for business and retail, and how to add value through transparent communication.
