Description
Eco-labeling scheme by the Bureau of Indian Standards, Govt. of India in 1991, for easy identification of environmentally friendly products, using a cradle-to-grave approach. For 16 categories including food items, electronic goods, cosmetics, and plastic products.
What it means
Usage is voluntary; meant to identify manufacturers that are using renewable resources, generating little waste during different stages of production to disposal, while consuming little energy.
