Produto Orgânico Brasil
Under the Brazilian law, organics products, whether in natura or processed, are obtained in an organic system of agricultural production or a sustainable extractive process, not harmful to the local ecosystem. To be marketed, organic products must be certified by accredited bodies in the Ministry of Agriculture. Only those produced by local farmers registered in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply are exempted from certification.
What it means
The Brazilian seal should be placed on organic products marketed in stores, websites and supermarkets, whether produced in Brazil or not. It guarantees to consumers that the products they are buying were produced considering social, environmental and economic sustainability, without using any chemicals substances and valuing the culture of rural communities.
